Watch Harry and Meghan Latest Video Charity Work

Harry and Meghan have both said that they want the public to focus on their charity work. Although we’ve been a little bit distracted by the release of Finding Freedom, today we’re going to honor the Sussexes by talking about their work instead of their personal lives.

Both Harry and Meghan did video calls this week to support causes that are near and dear to their hearts. Meghan interviewed Emily Ramshaw, founder of the women’s political non-profit The 19th*. Harry did a Zoom call to support the Invictus Games, which was postponed this year.

Meghan Talks Politics

Now that Meghan is no longer officially part of the Royal Family, she can discuss politics again. The Royals aren’t supposed to be politically aligned in any way, so she would not have been able to support The 19th* pre-split.

Meghan and Emily Ramshaw discussed the murder of George Floyd and racial bias in America, as well as the importance of voting in the upcoming election.

She also criticized the clickbait culture that prioritizes shocking headlines over real news, saying, “What’s so fascinating, at least from my standpoint and my personal experience the past couple of years, is that the headline alone, the clickbait alone, makes an imprint. That is part of how we start to view the world, how we interact with other people.”

Harry Zooms with Triathletes

Harry looked happy and relaxed as he “bantered” with the competitors. Although the games were canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic, this small team did a virtual triathlon.

When Prince Harry joined the call, Chalmers joked, “I tried to book Captain America, but I managed to get Captain Wales instead.”

Harry fired back, “The banter certainly hasn’t improved in the last few months, that’s for sure.”

Is That the New House?

We also received the first confirmed glimpse at the Sussexes’ new Montecito home in Harry’s video. You can catch a glimpse of an empty cupboard or hutch behind him, as well as a blank chalkboard. If that really is a room in their new home, then it’s clear that they still have a lot of settling in to do.

We believe that Meghan filmed her video in the new house, too. However, there’s some debate online as to whether that’s actually their house or Oprah’s guest house. The rumor is that the Sussexes are briefly staying on Oprah’s property in Montecito while the finishing touches are put on their new home.

Regardless, she looked poised and–dare we say it–regal in a cream-colored wing chair accented by a spray of white orchids. It’s a far cry from the blank stucco wall that served as her backdrop while they were staying at Tyler Perry’s mansion.
